The Greenbelt is a very important space for all Ontarians. If the Greenbelt is disrupted due to development, there will be irreparable harm to the ecosystems and the wildlife that live there. We will never be able to get those ecosystems in the habitat for sensitive organisms back. Read more

I am opposed to section 019-6197 of bill 23. It will remove thousands of hectares of valuable land previously protected in perpetuity and allow development. It also passes the cost of this infrastructure onto the local taxpayers when it was previously the responsibility of the developers. Read more

We should scrap Bill 23 and implement real solutions: increase low-rise residential density. Affordable housing near transit and NOT near or on greenbelts is the real solution. Developers can dodge affordability requirements by building outside transit zones. Read more

Please repeal Bill 23 along with these proposed changes to additional residential units. Additional units need to be built in accordance with local regulations (which also need to be encouraging Sustainability) and not superseding them. Read more

Municipalities are the closest form of government to their citizens. And they know their citizens best. Municipalities and Regional Governments must remain the planners, create their own municipals plans (with broad input from citizens and stakeholders) and NOT be superseded by the province. Read more

I disagree with the premise of all changes proposed on Bill 23. While we may need more homes in Ontario it is important to build them in the right way, in the right place and for the right reason, Bill 23 does none of the above. Read more
