Green space was not designated in the past to be utilized for hard scape in the future. It was designated as green space to ensure there will always be green space - an area of grass, trees, or other vegetation set apart for recreational or aesthetic purposes in an otherwise urban environment. Please leave the greenbelt alone. There is lots of land to build on. You don’t need the greenbelt for affordable housing. We need rising costs of materials to come down so builders and developers CAN offer their new homes , no matter what style, at a more affordable price. Read more

So much for promises. Leave the greenbelt alone! What about the 14000 hectares available right now to develop on that doesn’t involve destroying millions of acres of wildlife habitats and exposing Ontarians to more harmful environmental consequences. Read more

This is atrocious...do you not think Ontarians can see what you're doing? Develop properties that sit vacant and leave what's left of our preserved land be. This land is protected for a reason, we need affordable housing in already developed areas, not further destruction of protected land.

Do NOT use the green belt for housing! It is a fragile eco system that is home to animals, insects and important pollinators that are helping to sustain our natural environment. Letting developers build on this land won’t add more low income housing. Read more

I oppose Bill 23 because I believe the Greenbelt should be protected as promised by Premier Ford. We must protect the environment in the face of global warming. Clearing land and diverting water courses for development will do the opposite. Read more

The Ford government promised not to touch the greenbelt, and should keep their promises. Encouraging urban sprawl instead of protecting valuable ecosystems is unacceptable. Ontario should focus on increasing the density of its cities instead of expanding outwards. Read more
