I oppose plans to remove lands from the Greenbelt. Premier Ford promised his government wouldn’t touch the Greenbelt and when people are demanding protection of the environment during a climate crisis this seems to counter.

With respect, I am horrified at the way the provincial government is trying to ram through change to environmental lands that have been designated significant for 17 years. You cannot remove parts of these lands and just "plant" more. You cannot plant an ecosystem.

I think developing the Greenbelt is a really terrible idea. There are so many better ways to handle the housing crisis. Please do not let this happen. The Greenbelt is cherished by everyone in Southern Ontario and should not be touched.

No building on the greenbelt, respect your commitment to the First relatives, even if you don’t know the anishinaabe teachings, think of your kids, kids as far as 7 generations, what you are leaving for them.
Premier Ford and his government promised repeatedly that there would no lands removed from the Green Belt. To suggest that this slicing and dicing of the Green Belt can be compensated by adding other areas for a net increase in protected lands is preposterous!

I am vehemently against this Bill and ask the Government of Ontario to retract it and find a way to address Ontario's housing issue without destroying the Greenbelt. This land is being protected for future generations and to maintain biodiversity in Ontario.
