Wolf Lake old growth forest should be added as a protected area - its a beautiful area, I went back country canoeing there and joins up well with other protected areas

I would really like more protected areas in Ontario because I love the natural beauty of this province!! It’s such a beautiful place we live in, and we’re lucky to have it. Please protect it for future generations.
Specifically in regard to the proposed changes in hunting access to Boyne Valley Provincial Park. I am a member of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation whose traditional territory this Park sits within. I live in the area and visit the park for hiking at least every other week, if not more.

The expansion of Boyne Valley Provincial Park is welcome news as this important natural area is threatened by development and the establishment or expansion of quarries in this area. However, permitting hunting in the existing park area is unconscionable.

I am a recreational hiker/birder/skier/etc. and I like this specific proposal because it protects the lands I love to visit (Castle Glen, pretty river provincial park, Kolapore, Beaver Valley, etc.)

I am extremely concerned about hunting being permitted anywhere close to existing hiking trails in the Boyne Valley Provincial Park. Bullets that miss their mark can travel extremely long distances, sometimes up to a couple of kilometres.

The old growth Catchacoma forest is unique to Canada. There is extensive research to support the value of this significant old growth eastern hemlock forest, including its capacity for sequestering carbon, as a home to at-risk species and the presence of rare ecosystems on site.

The Boyne Valley is one of our family's most cherished places to hike. We visit multiple times every year and worry about hiker safety if hunting is allowed within the park boundary. Please do not allow hunting in this area!
As a member of the Bruce Trail, Dufferin Hi-Land Section, I am very concerned about the proposed changes to allow hunting within the current boundary of Boyne Valley conservation reserve.
