I do not understand how this can even be considered as a hunting area when it encompasses a public school area! Let me understand this...no speed cameras near school zones but gun hunting will be allowed. Read more

This is a great initiative for nature conservation and for increasing access to nature-based recreation in Ontario. My children are 4th generation users of nature-based recreation in this area. It’s so important to us to preserve it for generations to come. Read more

I have been an avid user of the Kolapore Uplands since 1992. As a local resident and an avid back-country skier there really isn't any other area like it in Southern Ontario. I have also seen an increase in use, and so think that any opportunity to provide a level of protection is a good idea. Read more

Hello this comment is in regard to the proposed conservation reserve encompassing the Kolapore Uplands. During the 1990's I frequently used the wilderness trail system there for skiing. It was at the time a truly unique resource in the breadth and variety of scenery and skiable terrain. Read more

I want to bring up a mention that the Groundhog River Waterway Provincial Park should be on the list of expanded or additional park lands for the reaches of river that were not part of the established back in 1999 or the 2007 document by Paul Bewick. Read more

I support this proposal, and hope the Kolapore Trail Association can continue to be involved. I love hiking there in the summer, and I really respect the need to keep the trails for skiing in the winter. It is one of the most under-appreciated, stunning areas of southern ontario.

In what world would anyone think it would be a good idea to allow hunting around a school. Children go to school for safety, security and to learn not worrying about the dangers of going for recess while gun shots are heard in the distance. Hoping a stray bullet doesn’t come their direction. Read more

Evidence from within Canada and elsewhere shows that Indigenous-led conservation can be more cost effective, have better conservation outcomes, empower communities and lead to economic growth. This should be a priority in the designation and design of new protected areas. Read more

I would like to comment that I very strongly disagree with the proposal to allow hunting in the Boyne Park as I believe hunting is incompatible with the popular hiking trail network in this Park. It is incredibly dangerous to have hunting allowed so close to well used trails. Read more

I am generally in favour of efforts to increase Protected Areas in Ontario and Canada, so I support this proposal. I believe the Ontario government should be continuing to add new Protected Areas and increase the acreage of existing Protected Areas in a more significant manner. Read more
