I support the creation of the Kolapore Uplands Conservation Reserve if and only if the area is maintained as “skiing only” in winter months and if Kolapore wilderness trails association is established as a stewardship partner permitted to maintain trails, blazes, maps, and more.

More conservation land is important. Adding any lands to conservation areas or provincial parks is important. All old-growth stands should be added to conservation use.
The Kolapore trails offer amazing access to unique area in the Collingwood region. I want to make sure that these trails can continue to be used by bikes and the management of trails is handled by KWTA

The old growth Catchacoma forest is unique to Canada. There is extensive research to support the value of this significant old growth eastern hemlock forest, including its capacity for sequestering carbon, as a home to at-risk species and the presence of rare ecosystems on site.
