The constant destruction of habitat for new development is taking away the natural beauty of this land. By not protecting wildlife you are proving you do not care about the animals or their habitat. Why must the animals suffer so deeply for our own greed and desires. Read more

I oppose bill 5. I want stronger environmental protections and the protection of endangered species. I oppose shortcuts for industry. I oppose overriding the law in special economic zones.

The greenbelt should never be developed. Everything Doug Ford is not always about making money. Once the wetlands are gone, they never come back along with all animal life...some people live in 400 sq ft condos so it is crucial to have this land within Toronto

PLEASE do not change the original act. The preservation and stewardship that this act protects and supports is integral for Ontario species protection and habitat support. I have spent 26 years advocating for species at risk in Ontario as a born and raised resident. Read more

I oppose Bill 5. There should be STRONGER protections for endangered species and protected lands with fewer loopholes. The environment and its wellbeing should not come second to economic convenience. Read more

I oppose bill 5! I oppose short cuts to help large industry. These places, no matter how close they are to the city, hold life. No matter how big or small these species may be, they are integral to the ecosystem and life as we know it.

This concerns me greatly. We can't avoid environmental assessments at our peril in particular species at risk. Ultimately we put our species at risk by ignoring the displacement and ruin of our ecosystem for profit. Just look at coyotes as an example. Read more

As an ontario citizen, Bill 5 is a huge NO from me. Our endangered eco systems need to be protected at all costs. The more sick the land is, the more sick humans shall be. The health of the land is in direct relation to the health of its people. Read more

I don’t think this is a good idea to get rid of this bill. It goes against indigenous rights and endangers the species already in trouble. I think that the highway under 401 shouldn’t even be a thought and leaving conservation lands, wetlands, nature be is the only answer. Read more

I oppose bill 5. I believe there should be oversight to maintain environmental and species protection. The government should not have sole oversight without any consultation of expert groups on this subject matter. Read more

Protecting our environment is important. These measures were put in place for a reason. We’ve already seen the environmental impact the destruction of Ontario Place has had, like increased coyote presence. Read more

Bill 5 is absolutely appalling and destroying the environment for profit of few should be illegal. No politicians should be allowed to profit from anything outside of the job they’re already paid way too much (by tax payers) and it should be criminalized to profit outside of their political jobs. This bill conspicuously guts environmental protection and shirks Ontario's legal obligations to species and habitats via 'special economic zones'. It is an obvious handout to developers and declares open war on ecosystems. Read more
