I oppose bill 5. I want strong environmental protections. I want stronger protections for endangered species. I oppose shortcuts for industry with no public oversight. I oppose overriding the law in special economic zones.

If we don't conserve what is left of Mother Nature we will be the next red planet in our solar system. You can't eat gold and you can't take it with you. These policies are placing homo sapiens on a fast track to endangered species. No bugs No Food! Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 5. Ontario needs stronger—not weaker—protections for our environment and wildlife. This bill prioritizes industry at the expense of ecosystems, allows harmful development without proper public consultation, and threatens the integrity of the Greenbelt. Read more

I oppose Bill 5. We have an Endangered Species Act for a reason - to protect species at risk. These species will be threatened and destroyed in these “economic zones”. There are other ways to make money and other places to do it.

Conserving biodiversity has numerous benefits to the environment and society. For example, maintaining diverse pollinators for the pollination of crops, preserving plants that may produce important chemicals for drug development, and conserving diversity results in more resilient ecosystems. Allowing these changes will put our biodiversity in danger. We cannot afford to allow politicians and developers a free pass to destroying our environment just so they can continue lining their own pockets. Read more

I disagree with this proposal to repeal the Endangered Species Act. The Ontario government has previously shown its willingness to disturb critical habitats for the sake of developers, and this would only give more ammunition. Read more

I absolutely oppose this proposal. We need to protect our environment and endangered species, and this act is not required. There is plenty of space in our province to develop, without causing undue harm. I do not support this
