This is a terrible proposal. Allowing people to begin activities on the assumption of approval is, at best, naive and open to accidental violations and, at worst, an avenue to violate the rules with little to no oversight.

Bill 5 represents a death sentence for our ecosystems as well as ourselves. It also happens to be irrevocably short-sighted from a financial point of view as it fails to take into account the cost that climate change acceleration and major weather events will have on Ontario and Canada. Read more

I oppose this bill. We need stronger protections for endangered species, not less! I do not agree with sidestepping proper processes in order to bypass laws so someone can build something industrial and risk animals and their habitats. Read more

I oppose to this bill. Without enough consideration if we uproot protected species then we are disturbing nature for human benefits. Let's not cause more harm then intended. There is a lot of land in Canada that can be utilized for growth. Read more
