I oppose bill 5. I want stronger environmental protections and the protection of endangered species. I oppose shortcuts for industry. I oppose overriding the law in special economic zones.

This is a terrible bill that lacks long term vision. The lack of oversight is yet another example of how Doug Ford’s government puts profit over public spaces and species for all to enjoy.

I’m writing to you today to strenuously object to and demand you stop what you’re attempting to do regarding the Endangered Species Act. Animals are not expendable, public land is public for a reason. The decisions you and your cabinet are making are egregious, odious, corrupt and wrong. Read more

The conservation of species is complicated because each species is unique just like humans - you cannot streamline it without damaging and killing the species. Do not pass this bill, it will do so much harm to the Canadian ecosystems, and to Canadian democracy.

I object to the change from permit to registration that enables developers to begin work without delay. The language on regulatory compliance sounds oriented to punishment after damage has occurred rather than prevention. Read more

If the current process takes too long and creates barriers, then change the process not the protection for species already at risk. These species are already vulnerable as a result of human activity and development and we must protect them! Read more
