Moving forward with this decision would not only be irresponsible, but it’s not democratic. This is NOT what Ontario wants or needs. Speeding up development at the risk of our ecologically significant creatures is not necessary. Read more

I oppose the proposed changes. Plenty of land exists in Ontario which needs to be rehabilitated - eye sores are everywhere. Towns have derelict properties which can be developed. Furthermore, density of development will call for better public transit in small to mid-sized communities. Read more

I want to register the strongest possible objections to the proposed Bill 5. It is an unjustified power grab threatening our environment, our energy independence and the right to live in an Ontario where our government truly represents the will of its citizens. Read more

Bill 5 will wipe out Ontario's award-winning Species Conservation Act and replace it with legislation which allows, as yet, unnamed government-appointed individuals (developers maybe?) to decide which species deserve protection (currently an independent arms-length committee does this); Read more

I oppose bill 5. I want stronger environmental protections and the protection of endangered species. I oppose any defacing of nature that is currently protected. I oppose shortcuts for industry. I oppose overriding the law in special economic zones.

Ontarians do not support this bill! We want to protect our environment and take the proper processes to be sure we are developing properly, respecting the environment, the indigenous communities and our future. Development needs to be handled with care, not fast tracked. Read more

As a long term resident of Ontario, I say no to bill 5. Our environmental protections are more important now than ever. We need thorough public and subject matter expert consultation on major build projects. Our environment provided safety and security beyond short term gains. Read more

Endangered Species Act repealed and replaced with Species Conservation Act, 2025; Will Harm already endangered wildlife that our biodiversity directly relies on, giving developers an easy path to harm vulnerable wildlife without strong oversight or science-based decision-making. Read more
