This bill opens the door to corporations to ravage our natural resources in the name of the “economy”. There can no be economy if there is no Ontario left to live in.
Bill 5 is a direct affront to Indigenous sovereignty and stewardship. By repealing the Endangered Species Act and removing consultation requirements, the government is ignoring its duty to meaningfully engage Indigenous communities and uphold treaty rights.
