I am strongly opposed to this proposed legislation. Cities and municipalities need more cycling infrastructure, not less. The very notion that creating more capacity on roads for vehicles and drivers will address traffic and congestion, and therefore reduce air pollution is absurd.

Bike lanes are important for safety. The provincial government is overstepping. They need to focus on actually funding education and healthcare and stop this ridiculous war on progress and the environment.

I have lived in Toronto since 2003 and have always used a bicycle as preferred mode of transportation for commuting and pleasure riding. I have seen the infrastructure improve substantially in the past 20 years, which makes cycling with my children a safer option now, then when they were younger.

I am both a driver and a cyclist. As a driver I feel much better with bike lanes as I don’t get close enough to cyclists to have potentially fatal accidents.
As a cyclist on roads without bike lanes, I have had many close calls with cars.
