I think combining the Conservation Authorities is a good idea. There are too many boards and people that have power complexes on them. I really don't want to see the employees loose their jobs though. Read more

I oppose the proposed consolidation of Ontario conservation authorities. This would create a top heavy management of conservation, local voices will be lost or forgotten. Conservation is powerful yet delicate, don't mess this up.

This proposal threatens our natural spaces in Ontario. Localized conservation areas should continue to be under local authority, by people who live in and care about the area and have best and have best interests in mind. Of all things to target, this seems silly. Read more

We, the people of Dundas, reject the amalgamation of our conservation land. "Freeing up resources" means fewer hands and materials taking care of the land. With the climate already unstable due directly to human action, we need to be taking care of our land, not neglecting it. Read more

Amalgamating conservation authorities will be detrimental to local conservation for us and especially for our future generations. It will remove location specific decision-making and the best interests of each individual watershed will not be looked after effectively. Read more

This proposal will affect rural natural communities in a very negative way. Local representation in the conservation authority means that member municipalities can use local knowledge and expertise to make decisions regarding the management of their own watershed's natural resources. Read more

This proposal will result in harmful effects to the areas within the subject boundaries. By removing local Conservation Authorities, the Ford government is sidelining workers who have context specific knowledge of the particular areas and ecosystems being managed. Read more
