There are several questions that have been posed that, as far as I know, have not been adequately answered, such as: how will local representatives be preserved on regional boards? Will all local lands and agreements remain protected and respected? How will funding change, and why? Read more

Do not take funding and interest away from Thunder Bay by merging with southern Ontario. Our community has different environmental needs than that part of the province and we do not want to lose money and resources because our funding is being pooled with other municipalities. Read more

As a resident of Niagara I am absolutely OPPOSED to these proposed changes. Bigger isn’t better! Niagara with the largest watershed, but lowest population will be swallowed up. Less likelihood that people will support the Foundation. Leave well enough alone. Read more

This is a great idea to streamline a government body and decrease multiple management teams and hopefully add more hands on in the field workers. Reduces multiple local offices and saves the tax payers additional funds. Read more

The HCA has done an amazing job of administering their conversation area. I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. Read more

While I can support some consolidation of conservation authorities, I feel the amalgamation in SW Ontario is too much. I can see Essex and Kent county along with the municipalities that feed into the Thames and Sydenham. As is there are too many different issues and municipalities to deal with.

I do not agree at all with the proposed legislation that would re-group Conservation Authorities into larger entities. The current system based on local watersheds provides that local knowledge and expertise will be brought to bear on the work of the Conservation Authority. Read more

I believe amalgamating the conservation is a terrible idea. Considering the distance separating Timmins, Sudbury, and North Bay, it would likely become unmanageable in a way that maintains the level of service we currently have. Read more

ERO-025-1257 Submission I am submitting this comment in opposition to ERO-025-1257 due to the significant risks it poses to farmland protection, watershed-based planning, and the long-term public interest. Read more

An expensive merger that takes away local decision making under a government that has already shown disregard for protecting vulnerable areas and species is a terrible plan. Why is this being suggested? What is the rationale or incentive? Who benefits? Read more
