I am not in favor of consolidating the conservation authorities, local authorities in my opinion have a better understanding of what is needed in a smaller area that they are familiar with and can make decisions more quickly especially in emergency situations. Read more

This is good news. There is too much bloat in this level of government. Each CA has their own rules around property use and access. Some of them (GRCA!!!, TRCA) are operated like their private little fiefdoms - run by Chairs and Boards that have their own agendas. Read more

While I would generally agree with the Ford Government approach to amalgamate conservation Authorities, I wholly disagree with the Lakehead Regional Conservation Authority being amalgamated into the Huron Superior Conservation Authority. Read more

Please, Please save us from the Ganaraska Conservation authority! They have ruined the trail network for all users. All the trails I love as a resident of the area are lost and or ruined by loggers. Read more

I believe merging 36 local conservation authorities into 7 large regional bodies is irresponsible. Grey Sauble Conservation Authority would become part of a region called the Huron-Superior Regional Conservation Authority, covering 23,500 km² and 80 municipalities. Read more

It's bad enough, how we in Thunder Bay & surrounding areas in Northwestern Ontario are deemed not important enough for the national & provincial news feeds to report our temperatures & weather conditions. They may include North Bay but usually skip right over to Winnipeg, like we don't even exist. Read more

I work for 1 of the 36 Conservation Authorities. There are alot of arms in the air about the new large borders. I believe new larger boundaries won't cause a problem to how our work is accomplished. Read more
