These MZOs would force extreme and reckless density on Midtown, more than double that of any comparable development in the GTA, without the infrastructure to support it; creating chaos and overwhelming transportation and services that are already overstressed, including local roads, transit, the GO Read more

The economic and viability case for these MZOs and this project has collapsed. The condominium market has both collapsed and shifted, with the market no longer supporting high rise projects dominated by studios and one-bedroom units, which is the configuration this TOC proposes. Read more

This proposal is too overwhelming for the area The government should not be overriding the legitimate plans made by local municipal planners when they are approved by local councils. Should the government persist in riding roughshod over local concerns I am prepared Read more

We oppose the MZO’s for the Oakville TOC. The Provincial Government needs to stop ignoring the planning of the local Oakville council and our citizens wishes and concerns. We feel like we are all being bullied into a plan that is not right for our community. Read more

I agree the lands around the Oakville GO station should be developed. However, I question the decision for such a large development in a small area. There is minimal green space for parks and use for families. The open spaces are designated”private open” spaces, what does this mean? Read more

I disagree with the use of MZOs to push through a totally unacceptable high density development on the Oakville TOC lands. Democracy is still the basis for our society and MZOs (giving Developers the final say on height, density etc) is not a democratic process. Read more

I don’t support the mega density plan that is proposed for Oakville. Our local government has been recognized for the number of new housing starts. The proposed plan would cause chaos to our infrastructure. Read more

While I agree that the area needs to be thoughtfully developed, I disagree with the proposed building heights …. Anything above 30 stories is completely out of place when compared to the current infrastructure in Oakville.

The economic and viability rationale for these MZOs—and for this project as currently proposed—has fundamentally collapsed. The condominium market has not only declined but shifted structurally. Read more

I am strongly opposing the Minister's Zoning Orders for the Transit-Oriented Community in the Town of Oakville because the proposed MZOs for Midtown Oakville blatantly fail to meet the Ontario government’s own post criteria for issuing MZOs. Read more
