The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-23-000327 to Patriot Lithium (Canada) Incorporated for early exploration activities.

The decision is to issue the mineral exploration permit.

We have finalized the regulation that will make producers of hazardous and special products, including paints, pesticides, solvents, oil filters, oil containers, antifreeze, pressurized containers, mercury-containing devices and fertilizers, responsible for collecting, managing and/or promoting the recycling or proper disposal of these products.

A decision was made on April 11, 2023, to approve, with modifications, the new City of Barrie Official Plan, as adopted by By-law 2022-016. The approved new City of Barrie Official Plan outlines a comprehensive framework of new and revised policies to guide growth and development to 2051.

The variance is approved.  Pepco may use two 120,000-litre double-wall aboveground storage tank without a dike with conditions.

Certificate of Property Use No. 1470-CFUHSV was issued to Port Credit West Village Partners Inc. on September 15, 2022 as part of the development plans for the property.

A Certificate of Property Use was issued to 215 QUEEN ST LTD. for the property located at 211 - 215 Queen Street West in the City of Cambridge, on November 20, 2023.

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has introduced legislation to allow for the creation of an administrative authority to deliver building code services. No decisions have been made at this time about what services would be delivered.

This decision extends the expiry dates of site-specific standards for Suspended Particulate Matter and Benzene for Stelco Inc.'s integrated iron and steel facility in Nanticoke. The proposal was posted for 45 days to allow public input on the notices to extend the existing approvals’ expiry dates. No comments were received.

The Province will continue to consider options for supporting and improving the transportation system in northern Ontario.

Permit application was withdrawn and terminated on February 8, 2024.

On June 5, the Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act, 2025 received Royal Assent, enabling the enactment of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2025. This allows the government to advance strategically important economic activity and priority projects within designated zones.

We considered the comments received on the proposal posting and developed updates to the name and design of the Northern Industrial Electricity Rate (NIER) Program.

We introduced a new penalty under Waste Diversion Transition Act to help ensure compliance with the legislation and its regulations. This will help to make sure the environment remains protected during the transition to the new producer responsibility framework.

We have completed our public consultation originally posted in 2013 and we used the comments we received to further revise the guidance document.

Given the length of time since the previous posting and updates made to the document, we are once again seeking comments (019-2557) to ensure that the updated guidance reflects the need of stakeholders

The policy proposal notice invited public comments on Connecting the Southwest, which outlines a vision and goals for transportation in the region. The draft plan is a living document and comments received in response to the policy proposal notice have and will continue to guide our actions and inform future updates.
