We are implementing a regulation to reduce sulphur dioxide air emissions from petroleum facilities in Ontario. This regulation will result in those emissions from facilities in the Sarnia airshed cut by 90%, and about 80% provincewide.

We have denied the requested Environmental Compliance Approval (waste site) 18-LON-87781 for The Stool Bus as the site was not appropriate for hauled sewage disposal.
The Ministry is proposing to issue a permit to Battery Mineral Resources Limited to undertake these early exploration activities: Mechanized Drilling and Mechanized Stripping. The location of the activities is 97 kilometres west of the city of Temiskaming Shores Ontario, in Leonard and North Williams townships, District of Timiskaming, North East.

On June 25, 2020, O.Reg. 509/18, made under the Electricity Act, 1998 was amended to harmonize Ontario’s efficiency standards for nine products with Natural Resources Canada, and to increase efficiency requirements for one product to align with Ontario Building Code minimum requirements.
We are implementing regulatory changes related to the management of excess construction soil and redevelopment of brownfield sites. These changes will reduce soil management costs and promote brownfields redevelopment, while protecting human health and the environment.
Changes were made through Bill 185, the Cutting Red Tape to Build More Homes Act, 2024, to enhance regulation-making authority and allow the Minister to remove and override municipal zoning by-law provisions that limit the development of additional residential units (ARUs).
