On March 5, 2021, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Zoning Order, made pursuant to clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation (O.Reg) 169/21. The City of Markham supported a private request to the Minister to consider making a Zoning Order.
On January 26, 2024, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Zoning Order, made pursuant to clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 8/24. The City of Toronto and Minister of Health requested that the Minister consider making the Zoning Order.

The Province of Ontario has passed Bill 212 which introduces the Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act, 2024. This new Act provides a consistent approach to the oversight of the installation of bike lanes, where a lane of traffic is removed.
On April 1, 2022, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Zoning Order, made pursuant to clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation 251/22. The purpose of the Order is to protect environmentally sensitive lands, including provincially significant wetlands, in the Town of Georgina.
On August 6, 2021, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Zoning Order, made pursuant to clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation 568/21 (O. Reg. 568/21). The Town of Innisfil requested that the Minister consider making a Zoning Order.

This decision is for an amendment to Permit to Take Water No. 4872-CKZK3C for Agnico Eagle Mines Limited (formerly Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd.)for mining purposes. Water will be taken from one ground water source to provide water for the industrial mining operation dewatering activities located in Kirkland Lake, Ontario.
On October 22, 2020, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Zoning Order, made pursuant to section 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 595/20 to facilitate the development of housing on lands known municipally as 153-185 Eastern Avenue in the City of Toronto.
We have exempted the Bradford Bypass project from duplicative requirements of the EAA by way of a regulation. The regulation sets conditions for the assessment process going forward and for continued environmental protection and consultations. No other Ministry of Transportation projects have been exempted from the EAA as part of this regulation.

The Cutting Red Tape to Build More Homes Act, 2024, has amended the Development Charges Act, 1997 to: repeal the phase-in of development charges (DCs); reinstate studies as an eligible cost for DCs; reduce the DC freeze period; streamline the process for extending existing DC by-laws; and create a transition rule for the City of Ottawa.
