The Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has issued an overall benefit permit to the City of Niagara Falls for a bridge replacement that may impact American Water-willow, a species at risk plant. The permit includes actions to minimize adverse effects and benefit the species, and monitoring and reporting requirements.

The Permit to Take Water No. P-300-1087434989 v2.0 was issued to Alamos Gold Inc. on November 22, 2024 to amend the Permit P-300-1087434989 v 1.0. Water will be taken from nine wells and ten lake intakes for mining operations and exploration purposes, located in Dubreuilville, Ontario.

Permit to Take Water No. P-300-2114724414 was issued on April 8, 2021 to Watersand Construction Ltd. for the purpose of construction dewatering. The permit expires on March 31, 2026.

The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-20-000178 to Great Bear Resources to undertake early exploration activities. Permit was issued on July 16, 2020.

A decision was made on November 14, 2022 to approve the entire official plan for the Municipality of Greenstone with ten (10) modifications.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted on September 14, 2021 to Application 54-C-216436 to sever a surplus dwelling from lands which will continue to be used for agriculture. The lands are in Ingram unincorporated township, District of Timiskaming. The last day this decision can be appealed is October 4, 2021.

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 5127-BNBJ99 on April 15, 2020, which cancels and replaces Permit to take Water No. 2561-9PGGS4 for Aecon Construction and Materials Limited located in Ottawa, Ontario.

The new Permit to Take Water has an expiry date of April 14, 2030.

We have changed when facilities have to review their toxic reduction plans. This will help to align the first two plan reviews with federal timelines and ensure facilities plan and report on current and relevant toxic substances. We also made a new regulation to provide more options to serve documents making it consistent with other regulations.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted on October 7, 2022 in respect of Application 52-C-207616 to sever two existing recreational dwellings for seasonal recreational purposes, in Cascaden unincorporated township, District of Sudbury. The last day this decision can be appealed is October 27, 2022.

The ministry has issued direction that would allow for the disposal of contaminated groundwater in the New Liskeard Lagoons sewage treatment system. The contaminated groundwater was encountered during the excavation of soil for the replacement of a culvert located at Calamity Creek on Highway 11.

The government proceeded with the proposal to revoke O. Reg. 355/17 as it is a necessary first step toward achieving the Ministry of Energy, Northern Development and Mines’ (ENDM’s) plan to update Ontario’s long-term planning process.

An amending regulation under the Planning Act was filed on March 5, 2018 and came into force on April 3, 2018. The regulation sets out new transition rules to deal with certain planning matters in process when the land use planning changes made by the Building Better Communities and Conserving Watersheds Act, 2017 took effect.

We approved new multi-media Environmental Compliance Approval (Waste Disposal Site - processing) No. 1984-BD9NBD for Mattawa Renewable Power Corporation as general partner for and on behalf of Petawawa Biofuel LP for their anaerobic digestion facility in Southgate, Ontario.

We have approved the Project Evaluation Policy under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act. It will guide consideration of potential environmental effects and consultation for certain proposed projects within provincial parks and conservation reserves carried out by or on behalf of the ministry.

The Ministry of Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has updated its Statement of Environmental Values to incorporate changes to the ministry's name, structure and mandate.
