The Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has issued an overall benefit permit to the City of Niagara Falls for a bridge replacement that may impact American Water-willow, a species at risk plant. The permit includes actions to minimize adverse effects and benefit the species, and monitoring and reporting requirements.
The Permit to Take Water No. P-300-1087434989 v2.0 was issued to Alamos Gold Inc. on November 22, 2024 to amend the Permit P-300-1087434989 v 1.0. Water will be taken from nine wells and ten lake intakes for mining operations and exploration purposes, located in Dubreuilville, Ontario.

We have changed when facilities have to review their toxic reduction plans. This will help to align the first two plan reviews with federal timelines and ensure facilities plan and report on current and relevant toxic substances. An application has been made by Owen Sound Ledgerock Ltd. to amend their site plan to allow extraction to occur below the established water table. The licensee discovered that the water table at this quarry was at a higher elevation than was originally recorded.
The proposed work program on the Griffith Quarry Project would be trenching and a bulk sampling program removing no more than 1000 tonnes, keeping the project below the threshold of advanced exploration. The location of the bulk sample is in a previously disturbed area where historic stripping and sampling has occurred.

We approved new multi-media Environmental Compliance Approval (Waste Disposal Site - processing) No. 1984-BD9NBD for Mattawa Renewable Power Corporation as general partner for and on behalf of Petawawa Biofuel LP for their anaerobic digestion facility in Southgate, Ontario.
We have approved the Project Evaluation Policy under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act. It will guide consideration of potential environmental effects and consultation for certain proposed projects within provincial parks and conservation reserves carried out by or on behalf of the ministry.
We amended the Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) No. A220249 for the existing Safety-Kleen Canada Inc. waste transfer facility located at 25 Regan Road, City of Brampton. The amendment increased the number of waste bins that can be stored outside at the site.
