First Nation communities in the Far North of Ontario are working together with Ontario to prepare community based land use plans, as set out under the Far North Act, 2010 (the “Far North Act”).
On January 20, 2023, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Zoning Order, made pursuant to clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 5/23. The Township of Cavan Monaghan Council requested that the Minister consider making the Zoning Order.
