We will repeal the Toxics Reduction Act, 2009 and its associated regulations on December 31, 2021. This will remove unnecessary duplication with the federal program and reduce burden for industry.

Amended the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998, to provide government with authority to ensure fair and informed decision-making at the OEB including broadening participation in hearings, providing authority to make certain directives, temporarily reinstating the status quo 40-year revenue horizon, and streamlining certain leave to construct processes.

We are proposing an amendment to the Ontario Fishery Regulations that would allow the use of multiple lines when fishing for Common Carp and clarify existing provisions as they relate to baiting an area to be fished (known as ‘chumming’).

A decision was made on October 10, 2025 to approve the City of Burlington Official Plan Amendment 2, as adopted by By-law No. 45-2024, with modifications. The approved Official Plan Amendment 2 amends the text and schedules of the existing Burlington Official Plan 2020 to direct future development within three Protected Major Transit Station Areas.
We have approved amendments to the South Georgian Bay Lake Simcoe Assessment Reports and Source Protection Plan to ensure Ontario’s municipal drinking water sources continue to be protected. The amendments update protection areas in Simcoe County with the addition of new municipal wells in the Townships of Oro-Medonte, Clearview and Springwater.
