The environmental assessment requirements for the York1 waste disposal site project were removed with the Royal Assent of the Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act, 2025, on June 5, 2025, to help provide additional waste capacity in Ontario.

We have granted approval to 1712833 Ontario Limited (operating as Metal Coaters), located in Mississauga, Ontario, to be registered under the Technical Standards Registry – AirPollution. This facility will adhere to all technical and operational requirements in the Metal Finishers – Industry Standard.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted on May 26, 2025 in respect of Application 60-C-249776 for a lot addition on lands described as PIN 42150-3047 on Poplar Bay, Lake of the Woods, unincorporated territory, District of Kenora. A Notice of Change, dated July 3, 2025, has amended the list of conditions.

The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-25-000073 to IAMGold Corporation and SMM Gold Cote Inc. for early exploration activities.

The ministry has issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval for industrial sewage works to RAM Iron & Metal Inc. for the company's Welland Metal Recycling Yard, located at 111 Ridge Road, Welland, Ontario.
