We decided to proceed with domestic bio-based content requirements for both diesel fuel and gasoline placed in the Ontario market under the Cleaner Transportation Fuels (CTF) regulation. At least 75% of the renewable content required in diesel fuel and 64% of the renewable content required in gasoline must be made in Canada, effective immediately.
Amendments have been made to the Oil, Gas and Salt Resources Act, through Bill 91, to create an authorization process for special projects to test or demonstrate new activities, including carbon storage, and to enhance measures to safeguard people and the environment. Bill 91 received royal assent on June 8, 2023.
The recently passed Moving Ontarians More Safely Act, 2021 (MOMS Act) will help protect people and families by targeting stunt driving and unsafe, high-risk driving as well as to protect vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians and highway workers, improve commercial vehicle safety, and strengthen oversight of the towing and storage sectors.

The Protect Ontario by Securing Affordable Energy for Generations Act, 2025, (Act) was passed to advance the measures outlined in Ontario’s first Integrated Energy Plan, Energy for Generations. This Act enables the buildout of energy infrastructure to meet rising demand, support economic growth and create a self-reliant and resilient province.
The government amended the Building Transit Faster Act, 2020 (BTFA) to expand the measures in the Act to all provincial transit projects, allowing projects to be delivered faster to help Ontarians get where they need to go more efficiently.
