I am writing to oppose Schedule 8 of the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act, 2025, which exempts Ontario Place redevelopment projects from Part II of the Environmental Bill of Rights, 1993. This section ensures public participation in decisions on environmentally significant proposals. Removing it silences public input and reduces transparency.
This amendment serves private interests, not the public or the environment. I urge the Government of Ontario to remove Schedule 8 from the legislation.
