This comment is regarding the proposed amendments to the Rebuilding Ontario Place Act, 2023.

I am opposed to Schedule 8 of the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act, 2025, exempting every project tied to Ontario Place redevelopment and any enterprise or activity that furthers the Ontario Place Redevelopment Project that is not at the Ontario Place site from Part II of the Environmental Bill of Rights, 1993.

Eliminating the requirement to inform the public or allow for public feedback regarding environmentally significant activities bypasses the role we, as the public, expect of the government and associated officials we have elected. Decision making that bypasses the pubic is a detriment to public trust as well as public interests and needs, and has the potential to significantly harm the environment.

I am calling the government to remove Schedule 8 of the new Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act, 2025.
