The 2022 plan that was approved by council and had community input is the development that should be going on the Janesville site. The new proposal that the MZO would force through includes a 20 story tower which is too high for the area. The new proposal also removes the parquet that was included in the 2022 plan which is bad for the neighbourhood overall. Also, the new plan does not include enough parking. I realize the hope is that people moving in to this development will not need a car as they are close to local transit and the West Harbour Go Station. This is unrealistic and has been proven so by other Indwell developments, specifically the Indwell building at James and Picton.
