First of all let me commend you for this excellent initiative. As a regular, albeit not avid, cyclist, I have a few comments for consideration in advancing this strategy:

- recognize the health benefits to the general population in having people in better physical shape, breathing fresh air as well as the environmental impacts of reducing vehicular traffic. In this light, the routes should be aimed initially to give access to the highest population density

- Connecting municipalities is excellent but there needs to be routes to get people out of the down town core to access these connectors

- The routing design should consider 2 main types of rider; the regular commuter using them for transportation and the tourist using them for a cycling experience

- Bike routes that are distinctly separated from vehicle traffic are likely the ones where people are going to feel safest, especially inexperienced riders, and will likely get more uptake
