Disappointed to see that there are no "Proposed on road routes" running from just east of Gananoque to east of Mallorytown along HWY 2, which is a county owned road downloaded to them by the Provincial Gov't.

There is already a sizeable stretch of this HWY with paved shoulders running from east of Mallorytown towards Brockville. While I appreciate that the "Existing off road route" reflects the 1000 Island Parkway. and is part of the Great Waterways Trail, incorporating on road cycling infrastructure along HWY 2 will add increased cycling traffic running through/closer to the various municipalities business section, increasing the economic benefits to those communities while at the same time adding to the cycling experience for the tourist.

In addition, given that HWY 2 is the main EDR when sections of the 401 are closed, paved shoulders/cycling infrastructure along this route will add to increased safety for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.

And finally the health benefits of cycling are lost to many residents who live near the 1000 Island Parkway trail because of the challenges of getting to it safely, whereas paved shoulder/cycling infrastructure along HWY 2 will create an almost complete loop at both ends of the Parkway where it meets up with HWY 2, leaving small stretches with in the adjacent municipalities to contend with, but opening up opportunities for those municipalities to continue with the paved shoulders/cycling infrastructure requirements to join up the two roads, ie in my TWP, paving the shoulders of CTY RD 3 from HWY 2 to the Parkway increasing the cycling experience for our residents while at the same time adding a healthier quality of life experience for many who avoid cycling because they do not feel safe.
