I do not have email but wish to comment before the time limit is up so am getting someone with email to help.

I have lived in Tyendinaga, (Quinte area) for 48 years. I am concerned about the report by BluMetric that Tyendinaga may not have sustainable water supply going into the future. We have a quarry close to me that has had a permit and has pumped billions of litres of water over the years. In 2005 he was refused the Permit to take water but went on and pumped anyways. This was discovered in 2011...6 years of pumping with NO oversight! He was not charged, I am told, as he didn't keep records and your ministry couldn't prove what he was using, but then turned around and gave him a permit to pump 1.3 million litres daily...Quite a change from using less than 50,000 to needing over a million litres/day, I would say. Why didn't the Ministry of Environment make him prove he only needed 50,000 by granting him only that amount and seeing if he went over? The community hired a hydrogeologist firm and with the help of CELA the permit was appealed. The one granted to him in 2015 has wording about pumping during drought. Like before, he has done what he wants and pumped anyway, even during drought . We have had Low Water years every year in the last 5 years and every year he does what he wants even though it has been demonstrated to your ministry that he is breaking the rules. He is currently once again up for investigation by your ministry. Here's hoping this time you do something.

Given the report that says water may not be sustainable in my township of Tyendinaga, please stop ALL Permits to take water. We need every drop we get to soak in the ground and recharge, not be pumped down stream by someone who doesn't appear to have concern for the rest of us.

I am a farmer and water is vital for my operation....just as vital as pumping is for his. Shouldn't humans and agricultural water needs come first? I do not understand why your ministry would grant the ability to ANYONE in Tyendinaga to pump large volumes of water. His is just an example. Please refrain from any further renewals or new Permits to take water in my township of Tyendinaga
