Having read the approved park plan it is clear that cottaging is not consistent with the goals of the park. Purchase of sellers is a viable approach although Parks may not be getting the best bang for their buck as ecologically high value areas may not be the ones that come up for sale in the early phase.

There must be a priority provincial fund for purchase of these cottages as typically OP Rondeau may not have the cash in their back pocket when the buildings come for sale.

I support the short term leases in the interim with a goal of a final strategy to remove the cottages. It appears nobody has been willing to do what is right for the park over the last 20 yrs or more. Politics over the sensitive environmental values of the park.
