Dear Mr. Gryck,

I am pleased to be able to provide input on the proposal to amend the Rondeau Park Management Plan to enable the extension of the leases for the cottage lots.

I am fully in favor that the leases be extended.

As a resident of Chatham /Kent I feel the advantage of having cottages in the Park far outweigh the disadvantages.

For historical, cultural, social and above all , the ecomonic reasons for extending the leases is vital to the community.

The stores outside the park and the Government Store in the Park provide the necessary essentials for not only the seasonal residents and campers within the Park, but also the Bates subdision adjacent to the Park. It is doubtful that these businesses could survive without the economic support of the 268 cottage residents.

The cottagers have been the stewards and protectors of the Park environment for over one hundred years. They diligently protect the natural beauty of Rondeau and the Leaseholders police themselves and the public to safeguard the Parks environment.

Organizations within the Park such as the Rondeau Yacht club ( RYC) provide leadership opportunities for teenagers, both inside and outside the Park. The young children attending the RYC get excellent life saving and personal skills in swimming, life saving, canoeing, sailing, board sailing and social interactions that are not available elsewhere in the local area.

There are many positive attributes for maintaining the leases for the cottage owners. If we are interested in developing personal healthy relationships with each other, the Rondeau Cottage people are to be congratulated for their past efforts.

Do not extinguish this fundamental, personal and positive experience, established by the cottage community for Chatham/Kent and our Province.
