I support the approval of this proposal to extend leases for two years in order to finalize a solution for long term occupancy of cottage lots at Rondeau Park.
In reviewing the details of previous ERO’s on this same subject I see that ERO # 013-1591 was used to provide occupational authority to Cottagers for two years - 2018,2019 - in order to develop final policy, complete Indigenous engagement (fyi, our family are Métis), and amend Management Plan. Requirement to complete Satisfactory Septic inspections related to Environmental Assessment. The only issues related to groundwater in the Park were those associated with Park responsible washrooms. Also aware that Park personnel have inspected all cottages and documented non-indigenous plants/shrubs/trees. Again, cottages have negligible issues, if any, when compared to what is off - lot within the Park. No evidence of actions by Park to eliminate successfully phragmites and barberry shrubs as a couple of examples.
Sell cottage lots to Chatham -Kent and operate cottages like Kawartha Highlands !
