I do not agree with the floating container cottage, which has been located on Little Lake in Port Severn, Ontario due to the following reasons:
1. It’s grey water pollutes our lake!
2. They put their legs down into the lake bottom and say they are not accessing an island, however, whenever their dog has to do it’s business, they put out a ramp to the nearest island or rock outcropping. And then it washes into the lake and ruins that island for any other persons visit.
3. They have been given a vessel licensing, by Transport Canada, but this is not a vessel. They have to bring in a boat to push it! Does it have all the specifications that a vessel has to have? No, no red and green lights. No white light signifying it’s parked etc. Is the electrical up to code. And all the other vessel requirements for flotation and safety, who is checking that.?
4. I have a cottage on that lake and I pay a lot of taxes, which pay for things like policing, fire service, garbage disposal, education for area children, municipal offices and related services, plowing, local road work etc. it’s not fair to those who pay their share. This floating home is not paying its way.
5. The floating container cottage in question is an eye sore. I don’t want that parking near my cottage and bringing my resale value down.
