I work in the consulting industry and the ministry engineers are usually doing a great job identifying design deficiencies and have saved me from costly retrofits more than once by proving feedback on my submitted stormwater management designs.

I don't mind the current permit process, in fact I believe it would be a downgrade to environmental protection to remove permit review. Yes ministry review times are sometimes slow, but this is an easy fix, the government just needs more engineers.

I have discussed this with my clients and we all believe that this EASR process would actually cost us more in the long-term compared to the current ECA process.
We are against this change and hereby express our strong recommendation to abandon this proposal for a stormwater EASR.
