This bill seems like an irresponsible move. If the government wishes to make changes to its plans to combat climate change, they should already have replacement legislation prepared. Lire davantage

On October 8, 2018, the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released another report calling for urgent action to reduce carbon emissions and hold the global temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius. As Canadians and Ontarians, we must do our part to reduce carbon emissions. Lire davantage

I wish to express by deep concern about Bill 4 and the abolition of the Cap & Trade program. While the evidence of climate change is all around us I find it appalling that the provincial government has more commitment to big and small business than to the survival of our planet. Lire davantage

I want a real climate change plan to reduce emissions, help people save energy and create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy. Repealing this act would waste time, money and energy that should be put towards mitigating the problem. Lire davantage

The announcement by the United Nations concerning climate change shows just how much we should be concerned thus carbon tax should be mandatory! Climate change should not be a political issue but a personal one for each of us for the survival of our planet.

I am an Ontario resident and want this province to put a price on carbon emissions. It is manifestly unfair that we should all equally bear the costs of pollution when we do not all equally contribute to their cause. Lire davantage

I want a real climate change policy that reduces emissions, helps people save energy and create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy. I want this Ontario government to be forward-thinking. If you are a government for the people, make policies for the people and especially for our young people. Lire davantage

I find it irresponsible for the Government of Ontario to put through a Bill to repeal the existing the Climate Change Mitigation and Low-carbon Economy Act, 2016 without prior submission of a Bill outlining time specific targets for greenhouse gas emissions. Lire davantage

I am appalled that our new Conservative government is totally abandoning all the green energy plans that the previous government had set in motion. I could see some amendments but not at total repeal. Lire davantage

I don't want to be embarrassed to live in Ontario. If I choose to drive instead of walking or taking public transit, then yes, I should pay a tax. If consumers aren't forced to change their habits, they will be lazy and continue to use fossil fuels. Lire davantage

As a parent I'm gravely concerned about the damage of climate change, both the immediacy, and in terms of the world that we leave for our children. I want a real climate change plan to reduce emissions, help people save energy and create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy. Lire davantage

Cancelling this is a terrible idea. It goes against decades of scientific and engineering research in order to fulfil a short-term political agenda and score a few points, maybe save a few dollars, at the expense of our health and our environment. This is not rhetoric. Lire davantage

This act is a disgrace to the Province of Ontario. At a time when action on the climate is crucial and requires our full commitment, the government has chosen to throw up its arms and abdicate all responsibility. Lire davantage
