It is well past the time when we should be banning bottled water for convenience sake. I understand there are times when it is necessary to have a safe source of potable water but it has become a major environmental issue. Lire davantage

If the township of Centre Wellington does not feel that there is currently enough data to adequately inform the impacts of continued and expanding groundwater takings in the area then I support them and believe that the moratorium should be extended to provide additional time for adequate scientific Lire davantage

No corporation should have control over something so vital as our ground water. The damage is known. Future generations will wonder of you, "What were they thinking?" You need to stop this bottled water insanity and extend the moratorium indefinitely. Signed, Dismayed Senior.

Yes to preventing Nestle harvesting Great Lakes Regional Water. Nestle is one of many corporations that are exploiting the environment. "Single Use Plastic" should be on a world wide ban immediately. There are alternatives - mandate their use immediately!! Lire davantage

The moratorium on issuing water permits needs to be extended. In fact, it needs to be made permanent. Water is a precious resource which we ALL need. Stewarding it for Ontarians needs to a priority.

We should not be selling water as a commodity. Full stop. Yes, extend the moratorium! But water is so much more precious, and with the Harper governments lifting of some many protections, it is in danger of being something we will lose. Lire davantage

I support the proposed extension of the moratorium on water bottling permits. However, this doesn't go far enough and I urge that the province impose a permanent ban with a phase out period of existing permits. A permanent ban is appropriate based on the following rationale: Lire davantage

Water bottling hurts people and the planet. We do not need more single-use plastics in our world. Water is a precious resource and if this resource is to be taken, what is the environmental consequence? The current fee paid by water bottling companies is not high enough. Lire davantage

The moratorium should be made PERMANENT. There is no need for bottled water as public water supplies in Ontario are safe, and we pay taxes to support those public water resources.

Excellent idea! I hope the Government will work toward an outright, permanent ban on this practice. Apart from wasting a valuable resource, plastic pollution is a very real issue.

I live in the Aberfoyle area and feel that the moratorium should stay put. I think you should look in to how much water is being used to clean rock from gravel pits as well because that is more of a waste than Nestle.

Totally against water being taken by water bottling companies. There’s talk about decisions being “science based”... we need more than that. We need common sense to prevail. Science? Who’s science? Lire davantage

I applaud the Government of Ontario’s proposal to extend the moratorium on new water bottling permits until January 2020 while the scientific groundwater reserve review continues. However I believe that the issue bears consideration on a number of levels, not just the specific groundwater reserves. Lire davantage

When I saw the report on a business running a water bottling plant and how that was affecting people that lived in the area where the water was being drawn, I was aghast. Lire davantage
