I strongly believe that this moratorium should be permanent. The bottled water industry is environmentally damaging due to its plastic packaging. At least a deposit charged on each bottle should be imposed to reduce plastic litter and pollution. Lire davantage

I think the government should phase out bottled water. We need to protect this limited commodity. We also need to eliminate the plastic problem that the industry creates. Thanks

I am a concerned Ontario tax payer and wish to strongly present my opposition to granting an extension of this ridiculous agreement. I oppose the extension and suggest that any such agreement at a very minimum should increase the charge per million litres by a 1000% or more. Lire davantage

Yes.... I agree with extending the moratorium. The province needs to understand the groundwater system better... pathways, quantity and recharge rates and locations. Thanks!

I am strongly opposed to companies like Nestles taking groundwater, paying a pittance for it, and contributing through the manufacture of plastic bottles that pose huge environmental degradation. Lire davantage

I am totally surprised by what is already allowed re water taking in the Erin and Guelph locations. Hopefully the powers that be will get an educated handle on what is being "taken" as opposed to what MIGHT remain. Lire davantage

Extend the moratorium on water extraction for one year and then introduce legislation to prohibit the issuance of new permits. Implement a phase out period where current water extraction for bottling and sale will be eliminated over a period of time. Lire davantage

I support extending the moritorium on water extraction licenses until January 2020. Much more reassessment of our water manager ment policies and practices needs to be done regarding this precious resource.

Blocking expansion of natural spring water bottling is an attack on democratic institutions and evidence-based policy making. 1. The moratorium is not based on any evidence of damage to aquifers. 2. Lire davantage

We are giving away our most precious, non-renewable resource without proper policing. The USA puts significant tariffs on our steel, aluminum, soft-wood lumber and we ship a much more important commodity with virtually no tariff or tax. Lire davantage

Such a bad idea. Instead, educate the public about the wastefulness of using bottled water and make them aware that they are paying money for the same safe drinking water that comes out of their taps.

Thank you for extending the moratorium on water bottling permits for another year! As a Conservative voter I am proud of this government for taking a firm stance against the exploitation of our groundwater resources. I support this initiative 100% and hope that the moratorium is extended past 2020.

I am a teacher, mother, and Guelph resident. I support extending the moratorium on water bottling permits. I would like to see the water bottling industry phased out or the implementation of a bottle deposit system. I am concerned about the impacts of excess plastic waste. Lire davantage

Isn't it time to STOP SELLING our precious water to BIG BUSINESS. Profit is large for these companies and for the Ontarian's there is nothing...except more plastic for our Earth! Wake up folks, before this Ford and his cronies destroy our Province. Lire davantage
