Government must recognize that land owners who maintain forests help fight climate change (sequestration of Co2). Government should pay the landowner accordingly or allow deduction on income tax return for maintaining forests.

We should not be advocating to cut more trees, many places in Canada and many municipalities in Ontario have declared Climate Emergencies. We should be more creative and efficient with the volume we already cut and be far less wasteful. Lire davantage

In reviewing the draft i noted only one mention of private woodlots and that was in reference to increasing harvest opportunities. no discussion of how this will be achieved, especially as most small sawmills have closed, many due to onerous regulation. Lire davantage
