This is completely unacceptable. You cannot remove land from the Greenbelt and just 'add' more to it elsewhere. That's not how this works. The land in the Greenbelt is protected because it is critically important arable land or land supporting vulnerable ecosystems. Lire davantage

Your government promised to leave the greenbelt alone. This is important land that protects residents from potential flooding. As each year goes by, "once in a lifetime" climate disasters as happening at an unprecedented rate. Lire davantage

This is an irresponsible and reckless plan. This is not the solution to the housing issues. If we do not protect our natural environment, we will absolutely have bigger issues for everything, including housing.

This is abhorrent! Ford is going back on his promise. The Greenbelt is a flourishing ecosystem, not to mention the most arable land in Ontario. It is also a vital part of our watershed. This kind of land cannot be easily replaced or substituted for other land. Lire davantage

Please do not try to address the housing crisis by creating an environmental crisis. The Greenbelt is protected for a reason: these lands are relied on by our fragile ecosystems and the communities that surrounds them. Lire davantage

I absolutely do not support this. We cannot carve out the land we should be conserving in order to build houses. There are ways around this that don’t require the trampling of land we DESPERATELY need given the climate crisis.

The proposed amendments to the Greenbelt plan are completely unacceptable. What Ontario needs is greater protection for our precious natural spaces. Many of the areas that the Ontario government is suggesting could be swapped are already protected. Lire davantage

These amendments must be rejected. The Greenbelt is a form of environmental protection and stewardship that is absolutely critical for sustaining Ontario and current and future Ontario residents for decades to come. Lire davantage

The Greenbelt was carefully architected and contains complex ecosystems. You can't just "swap land." Also, municipalities just submitted their growth plans that accommodates growth up until 2051. There is no reason to be touching the Greenbelt. This will not help build more homes faster. Lire davantage

This sounds like a terrible idea. Fully against this. There are other ways to address housing needs (especially considering the people who need housing would likely be unable to afford these homes anyway) than by sacrificing the few green parts of this province we have left. No thank you!

As someone who has yet to own property, has the desire to in the near future, and is aware of the current housing crisis in the GTA, I can understand the desire to build homes in some of the proposed areas of the green belt. Lire davantage

It is no secret that the Earth is heading towards extreme warming and Ontario is already seeing the results in prolonged heat waves, intense storms, and flooding. I would expect the provincial government to do everything in their power to not worsen the disastrous effects of climate change. Lire davantage

The Ford government never fails to disappoint with its self-serving, short-sighted agenda on seemingly ever front. LEAVE THE GREENBELT ALONE! You clearly have no critical understanding of this issue and your ignorance is frankly devastating. HANDS OFF!

I am very concerned about the removal of the greenbelt. As an environmental scientist and someone who struggles with housing affordability, I simply cannot agree that the only way to improve the housing crisis is to destroy environmental and agricultural assets. Lire davantage
