As Canada grows, our need for farm lands and ecologically safe zones becomes more and more important to feed our citizens, to help scrub the pollution from our air, and to provide for the anglers and hunters of our province. We should be preserving these greenbelt areas. Lire davantage

Even the people who never thought about the environment learned during the pandemic that the supply chain is fragile. We absolutely cannot afford to let developers keep paving over farmland and wetland. We need to keep all that land safe. Lire davantage

I've lived across Ontario in my life, from cities to rural areas, and have watched farmland and green space disappear more and more with every passing year. The barn I used to work at is now a suburb, my hometown is now being imposed on by looking development. Lire davantage

The greenbelt is an asset and a priority for this province which we must protect and preserve. Disrupting our greatest natural asset in southern Ontario for more homes is asinine. Lire davantage

What is being done about the ecosystems and biodiversity within the Greenbelt that will be developed? Those take years to grow and flourish and cannot just be simply replaced by “adding” to the Greenbelt. Biodiversity and ecosystem health is integral to human health and slowing climate change.

As a citizen of Toronto, one of my favorite parts of it is just how green it is. The vast network of parks, ravines, and greenbelt is a wonderful aspect of this city. I understand the need for more housing, but giving up space on the greenbelt is not the way to go. Lire davantage

Ford’s campaign promised he would not touch the green belt. There are alternative ways to increase housing in the GTA such as higher density building. Destroying the green belt will do irreparable damage to vital ecosystems.

I am opposed to Bill 23 . The Greenbelt needs to stay protected the way it presently is laid out . All these proposed changes will do is add to urban sprawl which we don't need more of .

Any attempt to develop the Green Belt is so misguided that it could be confused as intentionally obtuse. It is common knowledge how important these areas are from an ecological perspective. Lire davantage

Please reconsider this plan. Focus on increasing density on yellow belt lands instead of destroying the greenbelt. The GTA is already a sprawling mess; let’s not make it worse than it already is.

An intact, undeveloped green belt is an important part of a healthy future Ontario. I’m strongly opposed to any amendment that allows any additional development or an erosion of the protection of the green belt. Lire davantage

We have designated the Greenbelt protected for a specific reason and we cannot decide just because it suits us right now that what the greenbelt offers and why it is protected is no longer valid. Much of the diverse food we eat comes from this area and it needs to be protected.

Well, here's yet another bad idea. Is nothing safe from this government? Another promise broken. Another way to hurt Ontario. Stop this madness and start protecting this province. What have you damaged so far -- Healthcare, education, conservation..... it never seems to end. Lire davantage
