I believe the proposal to develop and build in the greenspace is short sighted and irresponsible, showing poor leadership. Natural habitats that will be lost cannot be subsituted for with smaller and more disparate locations or tracts. Lire davantage

I am all for building more affordable housing, but cutting down the Greenbelt is NOT the correct answer. The Greenbelt is a critical carbon sink and natural habitat and should be expanded, not sold to the highest bidder. Lire davantage

We need homes yes… but we need nature as well. For the Vaughan portion of the land removal… why? We have 10’s of thousands of homes to be built in the queue. No need to develop these lands Lire davantage

*Report of the Ontario Housing Affordability Task Force* see page 10 "But a shortage of land isn’t the cause of the problem. Land is available, both inside the existing built-up areas and on undeveloped land outside greenbelts." see page 11 Lire davantage

I encourage the government to take a science-based approach to this issue (as with all issues). Listen to your experts telling you that you can meet housing demand without encroaching on the Greenbelt. Promote increased density. Use areas already zoned for development to increase density. Hamilton voted no for this. Please allow a democratic decision to stand and stop imposing the destruction of the Green Belt. Build up, not out. This is stupid when half of downtown is parking lots or abandoned.

This is an incredibly irresponsible and ineffective proposal that will not provide adequate affordable housing. Sprawl is not affordable. Affordable housing options are those that are created within urban areas. This proposal unsustainable both fiscally and environmentally. Lire davantage

We wanted our farmlands and the green belt to be protected and propose developing the interior areas of the city so as to avoid much higher population and normalize the traffic at concentrated areas and to provide more green space to the nearby communities. Lire davantage

I feel this proposal is wrong! We shouldn’t be getting rid of farm lands to produce more roads or homes. We need this green space to continue to harvest and create more equitable living experiences for our people most importantly indigenous ppl who were here before us. Lire davantage

These past few generations have been the worst for environmental damage in history, our generation needs to be marked by improvement, not further destruction. Building densely in the interior of the city on land that is already developed is more sensible. Lire davantage
