We do not need to build here. What about using abandoned buildings all around us to either repurpose if the bones are good or tear down and rebuild. Would this not be more cost effective and better for the environment?

Me and my neighbours are opposed to this amendment. As our kids are growing and starting to enjoy going out in nature, our family depends on green space around the city and specifically the town we live in. This amendment will mean less of the green belt preserved for future generations. Lire davantage

This is outrageous. How can Doug Ford have the power to do this. There is so much vacant property in the greater Toronto Hamilton area that should developed first. We need more affordable housing in areas with public transit, not mansions out in the suburbs. Lire davantage

Please do not develop on the Greenbelt! We do not need more unaffordable housing being built. The wildlife and foliage needs protecting. Repurpose the empty commercial buildings in downtown Toronto. Don’t go back on your promise Ford government.

The government of Ontario said they would not touch the green belt. They should stick to that promise. This is sensitive land and the housing crisis will not be addressed by sprawl. We will only create more problems this way.

We can satisfy the need for housing in other areas aside from the greenbelt. You have approved urban development lands in a number of municipalities. It is absolutely unnecessary to tap into the greenbelt, and it is under protection because it is particularly sensitive environmentally. Lire davantage

Building anything on the Greenbelt is disgraceful considering the amount of wildlife and natural habitat that would be ruined. This is a terrible idea and should not come to fruition. Lire davantage

We have so much space available and not being used that is already built. Why not use this space. Office spaces lay empty, full buildings that have already used the precious resources from the land, already have water and electrical hooked up. This makes sense! Lire davantage

This is not going to benefit our children’s future. This land is protected for a reason. We are already killing the planet, we need to be doing things that are going to help heal the planet, not ruin it further. Anyone I’ve told about this agrees it’s a terrible idea. Lire davantage

Our greenbelt needs to be preserved as the protected land that it is. As an Ontarian who often drives through this area, it brings so much calm and peace to me just seeing it. Not to mention the habitats it provides for wildlife who are losing their land at an alarming rate. Lire davantage

I do not in any way support this proposed amendment. Do not touch the green belt. We need the green belt to remain undeveloped. There is plenty of empty buildings in the GTA that can be developed into high density, low income housing. That is what is needed. Lire davantage

I absolutely do not agree with this proposal. We need to keep our green belt clean. We don’t need to destroy nature just so rich people can get richer. Why don’t you repurpose some of the office buildings that are sitting empty into low income housing? Lire davantage

As if the highway through the through the Holland Marsh isn’t enough! There is absolutely no reason beyond private financial gain to develop protected green space in Ontario. Is it even possible to have a leader who can’t be bought and owned like a puppy doing tricks for the promise of treats?
