The proposal to strip 7400 acres from the green belt for housing is an environmental disaster in the making. Toronto has a high vacancy rate both in commercial and residential real estate. The transition to work from home will only result in the commercial vacancy rate increasing.

Once it's gone it's gone. This is not scalable. Need to redevelop existing land and create more walkable cities. I do not support this at all. Doug already heard Ontario complain about this when he agreed to drop this before. Stop.
I do not support building on the green belt. With what’s happening to our earth I don’t understand why this is something to even be discussed. There’s other places to develop. I am strongly against this.
Hello, I respectfully ask that you DO NOT develop this protected land. Please DO NOT amend the Greenbelt Plan. It is absolutely unnecessary and not at all a popular option for the people of Ontario.

I am completely against any land swapping within the greenbelt. I am completely against any removal of any land from the greenbelt. I completely support the ADDITION of the proposed areas to the greenbelt, provided no land is removed from the greenbelt.

This "corrupt" proposal will bring no relief from the housing crisis since the houses that will be built will never amount to the current stagnant wages offered across the province. There will be NO conservative MPP that will every get MY vote again as long as this proposal is active.
I do not support this. The Greenbelt is sacred land that offers so much to the people, the animals, etc. Simply destroying the beautiful PROTECTED land for housing is wrong. Do not do this. Do not destroy this province and our future.
I do not believe the Greenbelt Plan should be amended. As a Ontario resident I believe our commitment to preserve and protect nature is important. There are better ways to solve housing problems besides producing overpriced suburban sprawl and our politicians get paid to do this. Get to work.

Greenland should not be developed when redevelopment of brownfields and intensification of urban areas can take place.
We need to preserve Greenland to assist in combating global warming and the preservation of nature.
We NEED that greenbelt!! We NEED nature and beauty. We NEED plants and animals to survive!

This is wildly inappropriate an unacceptable. If matters like these are important enough that a bill must be past to make it possible, then make it publicly known and source public opinion before a decision is made. Don’t forget you represent the citizens of Ontario - all of us, collectively.
It’s disappointing the Doug Ford is back tracking on his previous comments stating he would leave the green belt alone. I highly disagree that the green belt should be open to development.
