This is a farce. Greenbelt needs to continue to maintain quality of life and some kind of incorporation of balance between urban and natural environment. ONce lost we will never get it back.

The Ford government needs to leave the Greenbelt alone. With climate change happening, every green space in Ontario is needed and is vitally important. To interfere with the Greenbelt in any context will be detrimental to our push back against climate cjange. LEAVE THINGS AS THEY ARE!!

This is a very short sighted policy. There are many other ways to create housing in the province without damaging the environment and our clean drinking water. Reminds me of the short term thinking of previous governments with the sale of the 407.

First of all I really appreciate this open forum...........It is hard to wrap my mind around how a wealthy privileged man can blindly destroy the countryside of this beautiful province. Lire davantage

As a citizen of Ontario, I am outraged at the short-sighted sell off of the necessary environmental buffer to the GTA. There are plenty of marginal lands available for housing. Lire davantage

The Green Belt was meant to be permanent, protected land for our environment, our farmers and our food. Using this land to build houses goes against everything it was meant to protect. Lire davantage

I am greatly opposed to the removal of lands from the greenbelt for the purpose of housing. The Housing Affordability Task Force said there is no shortage of land available elsewhere for housing . Lire davantage

The Greenbelt is intended to protect gathering of drinkable water for down line communities (like mine), to provide movement routes for wildlife, and to protect arable land so that we can produce FOOD, you know, the stuff that we eat?? Lire davantage

I wish to voice my concern as a citizen of Ontario about the expropriation of Greenbelt lands. First of all, this expropriation contravenes Premier Doug Ford's promise to the people of this province that he would not touch the Greenbelt. Lire davantage

The Green Belt has benefited Ontarian' lives with providing stable food source and protecting the environment. Thus, the proposed amendments to covert so much land into development area should be taken with precaution and much thoughts. Personally, I am against such a proposed amendment. Lire davantage

The hypocrisy of the government who wanted to do away with the gravy train is astounding. Why are you more important than my children and their future? Please talk with Arthur, maybe he can educate you. This has impacts not just in the next few years but serious, long term ramifications.

It is unconscionable to go back on this government’s promise to retain the greenbelt as is. The greenbelt is a critical asset of the people of Ontario, including of generations to come. It should not be eroded. Lire davantage

What is the point of having a 'greenbelt' if all the government wants to do is pave it over? I think it's reprehensible that this Bill 23 allows developers to bypass all the environmental regulations that have been put in place to protect this space limited though they may be. Lire davantage
