I am extremely opposed to this plan. These lands are in the Greenbelt because they were identified as critical land to be protected by a prior government. The ecological status of this land has not changed. The attitudes of the government towards environmental protections have changed.

The Greenbelt should be protected at all costs. It shouldn’t be up to a few people what happens to it now. Housing is important- but without a healthy environment, it will all be for naught. Please protect the Greenbelt and don’t allow it to be developed.
I live in Dundas, and you may post my comments. I am addressing specifically concerns about the Hamilton area, but the entire proposal generally as well. The proposed changes do not directly address the key problem with housing right now, which is affordability.

How about better control of who is buying properties (foreign investors) and how landlords manage the buildings they own? How about penalizing those who own empty properties? Or increasing taxes on those with multiple dwellings?
