I want to be clear that I do not support the amendments to the Greenbelt. We would be destroying the environment and farmland as a solution for the housing crisis for which it would not fix. We need to preserve this land, the environment for future generations and for us.

As a resident of Ontario, particularly Hamilton, I do not support Bill 23.
The lands that are proposed in this Bill, which surround Hamilton, are some of the most arable lands in the country. We need food security just as much as we need housing. Yet, housing can be built up, unlike agriculture.

Removing land from the Greenbelt and the Oak Ridges Moraine Is NOT RESPONSIBLE GROWTH, as you cite in your proposal. There are 86,500 acres of land already for development outside these protected areas, enough for the next 30 years of development.
