I am deeply concerned and opposed to Bill 23. The proposed changes to the Ontario Wetland Evaluation System are short sighted and irresponsible. As the climate crisis worsens we need to create stronger protections for Ontario wetlands rather than eroding them.

Ford promised not to touch the green belt, and here he is doing just that. What’s to stop him from doing the same to the “new land” he is going to add? He is not trust worthy and needs to leave this land alone.

These amendments are connected to a violation of the Human Rights Code. All Ontarians are protected under the following social grounds:
1. Accommodations - The public should be made aware of how the act will reduce the cost of housing overall.

There are alternatives to using valuable green areas that have not been explored. This government said it would not allow building on the green belt. Your flipping this promise is a betrayal. We need these lands for environmental reasons for the longer view.

I am writing to express my concerns related to Bill23.
1. The lack of complete review of this proposed bill23 by all concerned groups, more time is required for environmental reviews related to the reduction or modifications of the Greenbelt areas surrounding the GTA.

Do not build on the Greenbelt!
You are destroying the envirnoment!
Rather, you can incentivify rebuilding old neighborhood of Toronto or aging population.
The new houses will cost if more than older houses.
This is completely against what most people in Durham want. It only benefits the rich and has no consideration for nature and wildlife and the overall quality of life for people in the surrounding areas. It’s disgusting!
The amendments do nothing to address the current housing crisis. Shame on this government for suggesting it is about making housing attainable for average residents or meeting the needs of new immigrants.

I am opposed to the proposed changes to the Greenbelt Plan that would remove or redesignate 15 areas of land and add lands in the Paris Galt Moraine area, and redesignate lands in the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan.

I am opposed to building housing on the Greenbelt lands. This goes against this government’s past promises. Lands proposed to be added are not the sample quality of farmland that’s is proposed to be removed. It is important to protect Ontario’s farmland and wildlife in the Greenbelt.
Don’t believe the proposed removal of lands from the Greenbelt should happen. Intensification of lands already serviced, makes more sense than taking land from the Greenbelt area and developing them with new infrastructure.

With the population increase expected, I can understand the need for housing. Not everyone needs to live in the GTA though. The province of Ontario is a large province. Leave the protected natural areas peotected. You can never get those back.
Stop the development of the Oak Ridges Moraine now
The Greenbelt is protected to protect us from pollution, flooding and to protect the farmland we need to feed ourselves. Building McMansions on protected greenspace enriches a few political insider billionaire developers while degrading and damaging the future of our population and our ecosystem.
