I live on the Oak Ridges Moraine. I am strongly opposed to the Ford government's policy of giving developers the right to build housing developments on the Greenbelt and on the Oak Ridges Moraine.

I cannot understand why the province is going ahead with bill, when, according to its own Housing Affordability Task Force there is no shortage of land within existing municipal boundaries.

I oppose Bill 23 and Ford's backroom plans to carve up the Greenbelt for him and his developer cronies. End this farce and keep the Greenbelt as is. Keep your hands off of the natural heritage of the province and critical lands for water and flood management.
Durham Region of Ontario has already given up a significant amount of rural land to urban expansion. It has already allowed too much urban expansion with little effort to increase density on land already taken out of farming and from the Greenbelt.

The government’s plan to free up green belt land for housing development is idiotic. It will destroy ecologically sensitive areas, impact on endangered species and negatively impact water sources.

I do not agree with opening the Greenbelt for development. This will not solve the housing crisis in Ontario, especially as any houses built in this area would not be affordable for the average Ontario citizen.

This is a terribly underhanded stunt, another of Doug Ford's lies to the citizens of Ontario.
He will never ever get my vote again. He is not to be trusted in his endeavours, as he is only working for his 'breakfast club' , and hanging the rest of Ontarians out to dry.

Opening the green belt for housing development is not only a destruction of much needed rural land in the golden horseshoe, it is also an extremely inefficient way to increase housing supply. The best place to build new housing is always where infrastructure already exists.

There is land in & around Toronto that is eligible NOW for development.
I am writing this comment to register my objections to the "Proposed Redesignation of Land under the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan". Although I approve of the addition of the Paris Galt Moraine lands, it should not come at the expense of other lands in the Oak Ridges Moraine.
